CBD Bath Bomb DIY

If you've been following along for any period of time, you'd know I'm a HUGE fan of a good bubble bath. It's a weekly ritual... sometimes multiple times a week, if I'm being honest. There is just something so wonderful about taking 45 minutes in the dark, soaking in hot water, soft music playing, epsom salts, some essential oils, and just shutting off. No phones, no emails, no proposals, just rest and relaxation.

A few months ago, I got diagnosed with PCOS and I've been suffering from insanely painful cramps. More intense than anything I've ever experienced before. Nothing helped. I would wake up in a hot sweat at 2am with the worst pain in my lower abdomen and stressed that I couldn't fall back asleep. The only thing that helped was a warm bath. One day, my husband felt so bad, he went out and bought me some cbd + thc bath bombs to help alleviate the pain and let me tell you - THEY WORkED MIRACLES. What I loved most about them, was it allowed me to not take any aspirin, tylenol, anything like that. I always get nervous if I'm taking too many "pain relievers" you know? Then, it got me thinking... these things are are $15 a piece... I could just make my own! You may remember my original bath bomb tutorial here... so I know how to make them already - I just needed to add the CBD! And that's how this tutorial for you all began!

So, I made 3 different recipes for you all - for different types of ailments/desires. You'll want to use my original tutorial for the main steps and instructions (they are SUPER easy to make!) The main steps are the same for any bath bomb, the only difference is what oils you add!

What you'll need: baking soda, corn starch, epsom salt, citric acid, coconut oil, circular molds, essential oils (I use Young Living), cbd - this is my fav brand best quality for the best price - I bought this one, thc oil (optional), dried flowers (optional) make sure they are organic, you don't want to be soaking in pesticides.

Mix your dry ingredients together: 4oz Baking Soda, 2 oz Corn Starch, 2oz Epsom Salts, 2oz Citric Acid

Next, in a separate bowl mix in 1-1 1/2 tsp Water, 2 tsp Coconut Oil, and 15-20 drops of essential oils, 25 mg of CBD - for me that ended up being 8-10 drops based on the fact that each drop from my bottle contained 3mg of CBD, your bottle may vary depending on where you purchase. Adjust your math accordingly depending on the strength of your CBD brand. If you want to also add THC to your bath bomb for a little extra sumthin' sumthin', you'd do the same and add 25mg.

Slowly add the wet ingredients into the dry while stirring. It's important to stir quickly and pour slowly so your mixture doesn't start fizzing prematurely. Once blended you'll pack tightly into one side of the bath bomb, then the other side packing in as much as you can. Then press the 2 halves together tightly and let dry for a few hours. Again - check my first blog post for all the photos of this process!

Now for the fun! I created 3 fun recipes using essential oils that have quickly become my favorite! First up is what I like to call Rise & Shine! This blend promotes energy and an overall "wake up girl!" mentality. You def don't need cbd or thc for this one... but depending on your mood/pain level you totally can. You do you girl.

Add 5-6 drops of each into your mixture. I like to add dried marigold flowers... because duh, they are yellow and adorable.

This one is definitely gonna be your go-to when you are in NEED about once a month, if you know what I mean. Girl, you're gonna want allll the cbd for this one! Let's call her, Dragon Lady

Add 10 drops of Ylang Ylang, 5 drops of Lavender, 3 drops of Bergamot, 25mg of CBD add dried baby roses because girl you deserve roses when your uterus is treating you like this.

Pro tip: if you want to add some fun flair to your bath bombs by adding dried flowers - the trick is - add them to your bath mold first and pack your ingredients on top. Once it's dried and you pop it out, it will look perfectly all tucked in like you see above. Voila! Magic!

Next up is my Sleepy Time blend. You know, when your mind is bussing, you have deadlines coming out of your ears and you just need to relax and fall asleep. For this one, I added dried lavender, 10 drops of lavender, 10 drops of a blend called Dream Catcher, 25mg of CBD... soak for 30-45min and you will crash!
