Lauren & Ben's Beautiful Wedding at The Pond

I cannot believe it has taken me this long to blog this epic wedding. The craziest part is, this is the last event I did before the pandemic/quarantine hit us in CA. Everything was so unknown at the time (early March) and we truly had no idea what it would snowball into. And to think, now we're in month 6 of quarantine. But let me just tell you, what a truly incredible event to "end on" so to speak. We created so many incredible details, and Lauren and Ben were just an absolute dream to work with. Lauren was such a dream bride because she truly trusted us on design and referrals. It's amazing how seamless a wedding can be when you have a team of vendors who know exactly what they are doing, and a client who puts full trust in them. Lauren knew what she loved as far as colors, and overall vibe. We collaborated on so many great ideas and I love what we came up with together.

It seemed that all odds were against this wedding. The outbreak of Covid was already shutting down events and making toilet paper scarce. And then, a storm rolled in. We waited with baited breathe to hear if we would be shooting or have our first cancellation (we now are used to rescheduling, but had never had one before). But Ben + Lauren were determined to get married and make the best of their day. As we drove out Redlands for their wedding, the clouds loomed, but didn't break more than a drizzle and just as they were married, the sun poked through the clouds, as if their good attitudes and happiness had the power to change the weather. As our last wedding before quarantine hit, and a season we couldn't even have seen coming, or planned for, this one holds a special place in our heart. Not only because it went so well against the odds, or was the last thing we filmed in months. But rather, that these two people, in love, so happy and grateful, remind me of why I love my job.
