No Tricks All Treats

Guys, I have to start off by saying, I’m not a Halloween person. I didn’t grow up really doing a whole lot for the holiday… I mean, sure, we trick or treated… but costumes weren’t really a big deal and as I got older, I was never a fan of scary movies or dressing up much at all.

However, for whatever reason, I decided to make this years cocktail roundup Halloween themed. If you’ve been following along here for literally any amount of time, you already know my obsession with creating cocktail recipes. And if you’ve seen any of the shoots we’ve done - we always do Christmas and Galentines… mostly because those are my favorite holidays and it has worked well with our brand partners. But there is something about putting yourself in a creative box that really drives the best content (in my opinion) I feel my most creative when there are clear boundaries and boxes and sticking to a theme that I don’t know much about and haven’t “flexed” that particular muscle much.

That being said… I partnered with an INCREDIBLE team this year (see link to their pages at the bottom of this post) to bring you 3 brand new cocktail recipes that I hope you enjoy this spooky season (and all year round for that matter!) Oh, and turns out… I LOVE Halloween now!

Cheers, witches!

Pick Your Poison Sangria

3 Bottles of Red Wine (I used red blends)

2 apples cut into cubes

1 orange sliced and then halved

1 cup of blackberries muddled

1 cup Pomegranate Brandy

1/2 cup Cherry Liqueur

Directions: Pour all wine into a large dispenser. Sliced and cut fruits and add to wine. Add Brandy and Liqueur. Stir well. Let sit overnight and serve with ice

Another fun twist to this years cocktail roundup - I brought on the CRAZY talented cake maker, Ashanty of Meraki Cakes, to make cakes that pair with each cocktail because…well, what is a Halloween shoot without some serious treats?! And Ashanty blew our minds with the incredible cakes she created - not only are they STUNNING visually, but they tasted incredible. I highly recommend reaching out to her for your Halloween Parties… well, any party for that matter!
