Marlene & Adam's Two Day Wedding Celebration

I literally cannot believe how I forgot to blog this wedding. I ADORE Marlene. Next level love here folks. Marlene was one of the first vendors I met when starting out in the wedding industry. I believe she messages me on twitter of all places. I saw “Marlene Bernstein” and immediately thought I was chatting with a sweet 60 year old little lady chef and when we met in person, I was blown away with how much LIFE Marlene brings with her when she walks into a room. I got the little part right though - she’s a tiny thing that packs a big punch of personality. And I’ve been hooked ever since. We have collaborated on projects more times than I can count and when she asked me to play a part in her wedding day, I was beyond honored.

We started off the weekend with a welcome dinner and traditional Yemenite Ceremony + Wedding Celebration. Marlene’s family went all out and the FOOD… oh goodness, don’t even get me started on the food. Marlene truly looked like a goddess in her traditional robes and flowers, I loved every second of it.

And then, the next day we celebrated their love with a ceremony and dinner reception at Smoky Hollow Studios in El Segundo. The perfect backdrop for their Los Angeles wedding day. I had SO much fun designing this with Marlene and Adam. I walked them through my “design process” to help draw out the concepts that they are drawn to the most and we created an earthy vibe with focus on bringing live elements to the centerpieces and incorporating their love of design, typography, and music into every last detail - even the decals in the bathroom! The place setting design is hands down one of my absolute favorites over the years. They were excited to push the norm and get creative and I still love it. It’s so THEM.
