Friendsgiving Recipe Inspiration

After Thanksgiving recipes-2042-X2

A few years ago, I got the opportunity to style a “friendsgiving” shoot for Lauren Conrad.com with some of my favorite people. This shoot was particularly special, but how you’d expect. Not because the location was the “most amazing spot ever” or because we had professional models who regularly grace magazine pages. And not even because I had some killer DIY’s to contribute or mega sponsors to provide me all my favorite pieces for the tablescape. It was incredible, because well, the food was out of this world. And… it was just, real life. The location was my side yard. The “models” were just all us friends. The decor was simple, beautiful, and TOTALLY attainable by anyone (hello, Target and World Market). The centerpieces were so amazing because we used WHEAT, yes colorful wheat found at the farmer’s market – and cotton, yup, cotton. It was so fall/wintery, and incredible. I loved every bit of it. Oh, and did I mention the FOOD?! Continue Reading…

Spring Brunch Inspiration

Tut tut it looks like Spring! We love planning beautiful wedding receptions, obvi, but we also love hosting in our own home probably just as much. Case in point – our outdoor dinner party tips for Lauren Conrad.com and our Valentine’s Brunch! There is something so special about gathering around a beautifully curated table and sharing a meal with friends, am I right? It’s my favorite. So on this somewhat dreary Monday morning, I thought I’d pull one of out of the archives for you! This is a brunch shoot I put together with Marlene Bernstein – chef extraordinaire and Emily Reiter of Anna Delores Photography.

It’s fun, bright, full of DIYs that you can easily do yourself… and there is a mimosa bar. So there. That’s literally all you need to host your girls in the best way.

A Day In The Life

Hey guys. I’m Emilee! This post is all about my life as a wedding planner! The number one question/comment I get once I tell people what I do for a living is: “Oh! So cool. Like JLo?!” My first reaction is like, “ew, no- I’m way more fun and hello… I don’t steal my client’s fiancès. Duh”  But then, I have to realize: 1) People don’t really remember that part in that movie and 2) Most people don’t actually know what a wedding planner/wedding coordinator is slash does all day. So, thanks to my recent partnership with JORD, wood watches, I’m here to tell you all about what a typical day looks like for me!

Spring Style w/ Shop Birdie

Last week I had the opportunity to play dress up with one of my favorite new boutiques, Birdie Boutique with their newest Spring styles in Downtown LA in the Arts District. We had my fav gal, Kathrina of Joe+Kathrina shooting for us and we pretty much just giggled our way through the whole shoot haha. Just a group of badass women who run small businesses, supporting each other. Birdie Boutique is based in Norco, CA (right near my hometown!) but you can also make purchases on their website, so be sure to check them out! I love the boho vibe so much when it comes to clothes, but sometimes it can be a little too “festival” and not real life… you know what I mean? That’s why I love Birdie so much. Just the right amount of boho flair – paired with the practicality of everyday living. I’m also a sucker for great fabrics. Anything that feels rich and soft is a win in my book, and everything I got to wear was just that!

Unicorn Bridal Shower Bash

Ever since I dyed my hair purple for my 30th, I’ve been on this unicorn kick. So much so, that’s it’s become contagious. My lovely assistant caught the unicorn bug and dyed her hair pink. And that’s when the obsession took hold. We started dreaming up a party that involved the unicorn theme… but we really didn’t want something that felt like a little girls 7th bday party, ya know the vibe. Not too little girl… but just enough sparkle to make anyone relive their Lisa Frank days haha. Turns out that is a fine line. The result was the ultimate Unicorn Bridal Shower Brunch; filled with sophisticated mimosas, desserts that sparkle and a full on candy filled cake. Because… cake is always a good idea. We teamed up with some amazing vendors to pull this off, so be sure to scroll through to the end to check them out!
