2014 Wedding Color Palettes

Can you believe it’s already February?! Where did January go, seriously? I guess as I get older I’ll start saying that about everything – soon I’ll be saying… where did my 20’s even go? haha. Well, today as I’m prepping for several client meetings, deadlines for spring weddings, and meeting with potential new brides, I’m dreaming up what my favorite weddings will look like in the spring and summer of this year.

There is always a couple colors each year that I feel like I’m constantly working with for clients. Last year was blush pink. Blush everything. And let me tell you – there are not that many spot-on blush linens out there! I  had my work cut out for me =) So this year, these are the colors that I see being huge trends whether it be the whole focal point – or subtle details, I’m betting I’ll be working with these colors all year long… and I’m liking what I see!

Taupe & Powder

Okay, okay so technically there are blush tones in this palette… but it was such a hit last year, I’m sure it will stay. But instead of a gardeny blush, I’m seeing more of a sophisticated look paired with rich creams, creamy taupe and the perfect grey/brown combo.

Teal & Pewter

Mint was a huge color in the past couple years, and I love it! This year I’m thinking we’ll see more of a dusty teal paired with a rich royal teal with more hints of green. This look pairs so well with an eggshell base and a pewter metal giving it such a cool look. A great texture to pair with this is a slate linen. Can work in an outdoor or banquet setting for sure.

Purple & Mint

I’m not going to lie… when I heard that the new Pantone color was purple… I cringed. I hate purple. (Don’t hate me for saying that Joe+Kathrina!) With that being said, I’ve been scouring the web trying to find some pairing of purple that I don’t hate and I stumbled upon this rich vibrant purple paired with a minty seaglass, lavender and a soft grey and I totally love it. I would make such an elegant palette for any type of wedding this year!

Blurry Times…

blurry

Some of you may know that this past month has been a doozy for me and my family. Sometimes it just feels like things keep getting worse and worse. Like just when you thought the worst has happened… the next day my phone rings with something almost unbearable to hear. It’s been a hard thing to digest a family struggling so much and me, in another town, starting my own family. Wanting to do the best thing for both situations: being a good daughter/big sister and being a good wife. Not to mention, I’m in the middle of wedding season trying to run a small business all by myself. So, with that said – I’ve made some big decisions in the past few days. I’ve been trying to seek some clarity in my very blurry world. I’ve decided to spend more time with my family in my hometown. Like for days maybe weeks at a time to really help out and be there for those that are hurting. And I’ve decided to take  a step back from the blog for awhile. Just until I figure this crazy new going back and forth schedule.
